As the night winds down, head to Fayetteville Street at midnight to ring in the new year. A ceremonial dropping of the acorn will also occur at 7 PM for the area’s younger residents.

The fun starts at 2pm near Durham’s Eno River State Park Headquarters. Trekkers can try a 4.4 mile hike on Holden Mill Loop, or a 2.6 mile route on Fanny’s Ford Trail. At the end of the hike, hot chocolate, marshmallows, and popcorn will be served around the fireplace. Feel free to bring your furry friend along for the ride, too!
